The Caretakers, Inc. provides carpet cleaning, janitorial services, lawn care, painting, snow removal and restoration services to Mankato and the surrounding area.
From a one person shop in 1971 to our current staff of 150 plus during the busy season.
1971
Gary Peterson began a carpet cleaning service called Rug and Carpet Caretakers, Inc. Gary’s business soon grew from one truck and one employee, to several employees and two trucks providing carpet cleaning services, janitorial services, and fire and water cleanup/restoration.
1990
Gary added lawn service and snow removal. This growth required expansion into an office and shop facility. Rug and Carpet Caretakers, Inc. had developed into a 7 day a week, 24 hour per day operation.
1997
We expanded the original building into a 2-story building and now employ in excess of 60 employees, 150 seasonally.
2007
We expanded our services to include commercial and residential painting. On any given day, we have up to seven painters working on anything from residential painting to new construction painting to commercial painting.
2010
In 2009, we realized that our name was no longer sufficient to support the many job functions that we were providing our clients. In 2010, we officially changed our name to The Caretakers, Inc.
